During week three of the climate action project, we engaged our students in doing group discussions to think about the possible solutions to climate change and upon days of discussions on the solutions, they were able at the end of the week to work on the video for the solutions to climate change.

The students and teachers came up with many practical solutions to save  the environment... here in this video I'm sharing the most easy ones that can be practiced in our everyday life.

Students found on the basis of community observations. Bangladesh is a density of populations that is why many small factories situated near the locality without proper planning, So bad smoke, industrial wastage are increasing  carbon dioxide. Global warming and seasons have been changed and the coastal area will face natural disasters and rise the tidal. The senility water entered the rivers and lands which is harmful to human general life.

WLSA Shanghai Acadmy students made a research and realized that Shanghai needs more greener spaces and they will start implementing actions in their own school in Baoshan campus.

The students shared how they think climate change can be battled at an individual level. They came up with things that were being done inside their homes and their school to fight ordeal. 

At DLDAVPP we understand, appreciate and value our green gold (environment). It is important that this precious gift is nurtured, preserved and reserved for the next generation. To ensure our students become global green citizens they are sensitized through awareness programmes, participate in Van-Mahotsav celebrations and practice and preach the golden rule – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

SWACHHATA PAKHWADA is a nation-wide campaign in INDIA that aims to promote cleanliness in all the schools. The SHAPATH/ OATH taking ceremony marked a significant beginning of SWACHHATA PAKHWADA in Darbari Lal DAV Model School Pitampura Delhi on 04.09.19. It was the solemn occasion where the students of different classes were prepared to take an oath of keeping themselves and their surroundings clean.

Plantation Drive was held in our school on 10.09.19. The students actively participated in the drive. School Principal, teachers and students planted saplings in the school nursery. The students planted various types of plants. School Principal Mrs Anita Wadehra interacted with the students about the need to save water and save our Mother Earth by planting more trees. The school gardener taught them how to plant trees. Thereafter, they watered the plants. The students and teachers thoroughly enjoyed.

Awareness was created in the public about how to reduce pollution and rally on planting trees for a clean and green environment 

each child in Year 2A came up with a solution and shared their ideas.

Students collaborate together and find out the various reasons for climate change in various continents and what steps are being taken by the government in this regard.

Students of Eka have come up with various possible solutions to curb Climate change and presented the same in the ppt which has been attached. They have also prepared a prototype and demonstrated the solution- Rainwater Harvesting and Solar power generation. The video of their presentation has been attached.

Students proposed the solutions to keep environment clean and use biodegrable waste by converting it in compost ,a natural fertiliser that can be used for growth of plants .

In the third week, as a solution to the problem of climate change, the students participated in the PlantEd project and worked in cooperative groups in the school garden to grow a group of decoration plants as a first stage.

My students from Nugawela Central College, Sri Lanka are very much concern about how to fight with the climate changes.And the list of ways are mentioned here.

This week we asked the students to think about the solutions for climate change.

Any solution which they think can help with the climate change was welcomed.

The idea was to get the solutions from the whole school starting from Grade 1-4,5-12 Girls and 5-12 Boys.

We asked them to write the solutions on the chart paper.

All of the solutions have been displayed in the presentation.

According to the Statistics company, in Germany, the number of newly registered passenger cars, with fuel type petrol has increased over a period of time.

And in Hanover according to the population density, the impact increase in about 125,000 people the almost 600,000 that inhabitants Hannover.

While the sustained population growth of vehicle usage is increasing causing an estimated 330 thousand people using used and new vehicles.

We discussed about climate action.We worked  together .We tried to find a solution.We don't leasve plastic bags ,cd ,plastic plates anywhere.We use and reusce the same plates to create our toys.

in week 3 we prepared leaflets, posters and wall list of solutions how to prevent climate changes. We conducted lessons with younger students. kasia one of the students built Minecraft windmills and solar panels to show how to live ecologically. We concluded that we have impact every day: don't use plastic, save water, turn off your devices, don't buy so many clothes! We are going to plant trees with support of Forest District in Kolbudy.

Our planet is for everybody! 

After week 2 and childrens conclusion that climate changes effect the whole planet (creating tornados, volcano eruptions, extreme heat, ice melting, typhoons...) we started conversation what we can do to stop climate changes and help our planet? Children were intrested in this topic and they gave us very good suggestions: recycling, we can drive bicycles not cars, stop smoking, save energy... we draw it all, and started action with help of parents-recycling old newspapers for the tree. After this, we will plant our tree. Cant vait! 

This week we were looking for potential solutions.

Answers were: reduce carbon emmissions and walk, ride a bike or take a train,

 save water when we are in toalets,

reuse, reduce and recycle whatever we can as plastics, old clothes...

We tried to suggest solution for problem of carbon emmissions as collective by making an Action Plan to create more sustainable planet. 

We will plant trees!

The earth is warming up at a steady pace. The reason for this is the increase in human-caused greenhouse gases, which has led to health, ecological and humanitarian crises.

Despite this, the fight against climate change is a real opportunity to transition

to a low carbon society, creating jobs, innovation and social justice locally and internationally.

This week we were talking about ecology, our planet, and how important it is to think about our activities. So we asked our children how can people prevent climate changes? How can we save and Take care of our planet? They were really active brainstorming, so we have got a various of answers and opinions : we must take care of plants, to use cars and motors less, more bikes and walks, we shouldn't throw garbage on the streets-we have different containers for different garbage. So one girl said: Blue is for plastic stuff. She lead us to recycling, and her explanation was that it is when you use something old and put of it you make something New. In further conversation they said that it is important to care, and not to throw garbage into rivers and seas because we must save animal who live there - they are very important to us. Then, one boy said that grown ups shouldn't smoke. Other boy had an idea that we have to plant a lots of trees, as much trees as we can,and that people should not cut the trees. When we are planting trees we are also making a home for some animals. Children also had some answers we didn't expect - if there is no electricity, they said, it is dark. We should spend it carefully. So one girl continued- we can use the energy of water, one boy said - or the wind. Then she remembered windmills. So, after the conversation, we were watching some pictures and we were reading books about ecology where we have found interesting facts. The next step was to make our action plan - the kids decided to: recycle, save el. energy and plant trees. They asked if we can do it, and we were happy to support them. We made a plan together-What do we need if we want to plant a tree? Children were thinking and then made a list : water, ground, sun, rain, spade, seedling and love! We really, really love the way they think. So, we will organizme planting next Week, as soon as we provide everything we need. Next step-they started turning off the lights in our room and bathroom when we don't need it. Then, we made action in the entire object, all groups involved - we invited parents to join us collecting old paper that we are going to exchange for seeds ( flowers and trees) in cooperation with society of environmental engineers. So this action is in process. All of our thoughts, ideas and plans we were drawing, made collages and lists, so we expanded our Project wall. Also, we made poster presentations called "Why trees mater?" and "Save the planet". Two actions of our plan are happening, and we are extremely excited participating this project, and making plans for planting next week. We will send our impressions. 

We were watching videos about global warming and melting ice on Nortth and South poles. Children were discussing about Eskimes and animals which live on North pole and about pinguines which live on South pole. 

We were reading books about animals which live on North pole and concluded that they are endangered. 

Than we created two collaborative posters. We worked in 4 groups. Every group has task. One group was drawing animals, one group was drawing ice glechers on North pole, one group was drawing penguines and South pole, one group was cutting drawings. We created two posters of two poles.

After that we prepared experiment with various pieces of ice and ask questions : What will happen with ice in our classroom? Which peaces will be melted earlier? Why? What will happen after melting?

Children were watching and taking data. They concluded that level of water reised, that smaller peaces melted faster.

We discussed again about global warming and causes of it and try to find sollutions. Children suggested that we have to reduce industry, to increase organic farming, to reduce car driving and ride bycicles, to plant trees on every place where they can grow.

What can we do? Is it true taht only adults can do something to stop the Climate Change? NO, that's not true,

Each one of us can do a lot becasue EVERY ACTION MATTERS!

They chose the medoldy of a known song, then, they decided the topic and changed the lyrics according to the topic and trying to send a message to everyone who listens to the song and watches the video.

Another great week and this week we have looked at possible solutions!

Many of the girls are also in eco club and they have told us about the things that they as a school are doing for Climate Action. things like making eco bricks, planting a garden and although it is small, they are using the plants and herbs in the kitchen.  We have continued with our tree planting and now have come up with the tree that needs to be planted and we are going to plant 2 different trees.  Our soil is very bad and we have had one of our dad's come in and give us advice.  We have finished our PowerPoint slides and most of the girls have done a 30 second clip about the topic they feel most strongly about.  The girls have been responsible for all their own PowerPoints, video taking and editing.  Very impressed!

 During the third week, we discussed how protect our earth, how to stop global warming. We also thought with children how we can solute this problem.

THERE ARE NATURE-BASED SOLUTIONS LED BY YOUNG PEOPLE and we are among leaders to reach them.

Climate change refers to significant, long-term changes in the global climate. It is  more than the “average” of the climates of specific places. Climate change is the defining issue of our time and now is the defining moment to do something about it. The members of International Euroclub «PrimeStar» of Okhtyrka Secondary School No1 , Ukraine do  really understand its importance.   It is  expected that with   such global warming the Earth  will have 280 mln.  climate refugees from megapolices  even if GW is limited by 2%.The see level will reach 4,5-6 meters. It happened that this July 2019  was the hottest in the history of mankind and Swiss icebergs lost 180 mln. ton of ice . The territory of Hong-Kong-will be 31%, Chinghai—39%, Miami -  43%,Amsterdam-92% l be under water in the nearest future.. According to the IDMC center from Geneva in 2018 -16 mln people left their homes because of climate changes. On September, 29 in Kyiv there was March of Climate changes protestants from different cities of Ukraine who demanded from  the President and Government of Ukraine completely use renewable energy till 2050, refuse from building new electric power stations, digging new  natural resources and  use electric public transport ,  build roads for bicycles. Another demand is to ban usage of plastic plates and glasses as well as their production at all.        

Special Summit UNO September, 23 2019  discussed questions of 3D printing using plastic waste ,data storage in plant DNA,  Anurag Saha Roy talked about crowdsourcing,  weather &agriculture data for farmers,  Brighton Mabasa discussed the issue of weather app for smallholder farmers,  Michelle Han –suggested  accountability  platform for sustainable fashion. WE CAN   create highly engaging videos with our phone and design social media strategies to reach millions of people daily. We do  understand that from building community to engaging with decision-makers, Instagram can be an extremely valuable tool for awareness, advocacy, and action.  We know that @STATEOFYOUTH PRESENTS “INSTAGRAM ON PURPOSE”. Everybody can  join Instagram and State of Youth as they take   through some of the easiest, yet savviest, creative ways to use Instagram Stories to amplify our voice, mission, and purpose. We support the idea to lead an interactive workshop on circularity for apparel and footwear focusing on innovative design, materials choice, waste avoidance, circular packaging, etc. using the open-sourced Circular Design Guide. This guide is being used across the industry as a framework to reduce impact on the planet. WE can CALL our governments and the private sector provide climate finance commensurate with the scale of our planetary emergency. There is Join Youth Climate Lab, with the support of Connect4Climate, for a fast-paced opportunity to work with experts, decision makers, and other participants to co-create recommendations for ways to generate more youth-friendly and ambitious climate finance.

As we are already experiencing impacts from climate change as a result of global warming, including deadly heat waves, extreme weather events, and threats to life on earth we  have already  :

1. joined    CLIMATE ACTION PROJECT,   explored  causes of climate changes,
2. discussed if they are  the same locally as globally
3. studied what are the effects of Climate Change
4. and worked hard on potential solutions. Our students tried to create prototypes and have done mind-maps.

We do deeply understand that   98 countries, more  than 94,347 students  from 854  Schools are united  with one Big Mission.

So, what have we already done is that  our school is participating in  ZERO Waste Project. We had done flashmobs, shot social adverts and had trainings .  In May, 2019 we implemented the  project Eco Bags from secondhand  clothes or things, for example old T-shirts or jeans.  On April 13, 2019 our  International Euroclub «PrimeStar»  Okhtyrka Secondary School No1 , Ukraine organized  English  camp «SPRING - 2019 CAMP EXCITE - OKHTYRKA»CIVIC ENGAGEMENT: DEFENDERS OF THE PLANET with Peace Corp and Erazmus+ volunteers.

We discussed how to use local public transport more effectively, how to get  to school by bus and how to organize an art exhibition on this burning problem. We would like to organize a workshop on how to use art to create social efforts to solve the climate emergency.  This workshop will be a chance for our students to share how they are using art and creativity in our local community.

We agree that planting trees is the one of the most effective ways to combat climate change. #PlantED is a global tree planting initiative aiming to plant more than 1M trees by October 2019, as part of the Climate Action Change  Project .And we will do this.

The Youth Climate Summit — the first UN climate summit for young people gave the Youth chance to introduce  their solutions and be meaningfully engaged with decision-makers. This historic event took place as part of a weekend of events leading up to the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit on 23 September,2019. The Youth Climate Summit brought  together young activists, innovators, entrepreneurs, and change-makers who are committed to addressing the global climate emergency. It was action-oriented, intergenerational, and inclusive, with equal representation of young leaders from all walks of life.

The Youth Climate Summit was all about young leaders, so we’re turning the mic over to them! Now we feel a flavor of the geographical spread of participants, and examples of actions they are taking themselves, thus building a real sense of the passion and enthusiasm of young people to help solve a crisis we did not make.

It is obvious that we will not achieve the Paris Agreement & the17 Sustainable Development Goals without nature-based solutions. Young people are at the helm of this. We, young leaders of International Euroclub «PrimeStar» of Okhtyrka Secondary School No1 , Ukraine will launch a powerful call to action that drives forward action on this front.

Students and teachers of Kherson Gymnasium # 1 take an active part in the project. We have discussions about Climate change impacts, make video and presentations. We have Skype-meeting and share our experience with students from Vietnam and India. Flipgrid helps our students to be heard all over the world!

Pupils of School 8 (Rivne, Ukraine) have made a poster about effects of global warming and created a video to show what steps each person can do to stop global warming.

This week my students brainstormed the ideas that can contribute to the solutions of eco problems in our city. We tried such methods as design thinking and mind mapping. As a result, we decided to launch #iCareChallenge (the challenge of eco friendly deeds) in social media, design mini eco posters to remind the students from our school to save energy and water, play in eco performance and participate in Climate Drops project in Ukraine. 

Students select books in a collection in https://www.getepic.com/ then they use https://www.screencastify.com/ to talk about what they think is important to learn about climate change and how it is affecting our earth. They also give ideas about what we can do to prevent climate change.

Our class generated a list of things that should change that will help the climate.  We added these solutions to the 'longest list of solutions'.  

The students decided to take action after monitoring that the cafeteria needs to improve in serving students with plastic and noncompostable containers.  Emails have been sent requesting the information about the cafeteria management. a group has a plan to design large attached bins wit the woodshop for the cafeteria. The action taking process is still being persevered and more follow up in a couple of weeks. 

Alison Bixby Stone School made a quick list of solutions to reduce climate change. They are exploring these solutions more in depth on their Sutori timeline throughout the school year.

This week we brainstormed  about the best ideas to implement inside our school community.

Students are still working on their investigation connected to possible solutions in order to lessen the number of victims natural disasters leave.

Students started the research seedbed for climate action. Students organised the first climate action Strike in order to change school community and city  mindsets by having fun. They were disguised representing animals or plants. They were the VOICE OF THE VOICELESS.
