Students prepare PowerPoint presentations about climatic change worldwide. They are therefore learing how to integrate ICT in learning and how to be good public speakers. Students are asked to talk about the mail causes of the phenomenon.

This is a short slide deck created by one student about the impact of Morocco on climate change.

This project is meant to sensitize pupils in primary schools on the concept, climate change, and all the information they would need to be a responsible young citizen of the country, doing what is right and expected of them to save our planet. The project name says it all, You and I can save our planet if we see it as a persona;l responsibility before it's been seen as a collective responsibility.

Definition of Climate Change.

1.Climate Change is the variability in temperature of a particular locality over a period of time, that is a decade.

2.Climate Change is the difference that occurs in atmospheric condition of a particular place over time, which is measurable.

The project is about looking at the causes and effects of climate change in South Africa particularly in Gauteng.The most common cause being Air pollution mostly from burning of coals and oils as Gauging is an industrial area and Radiation from mine dumps as Gauteng is also known for gold mining

Roedean pupils created worksheets based on CAP curriculum, and children's books, and sent them to a small inner city NGO, which takes care of vulnerable children. The latter read the books and completed the worksheets. which dealt with water, and plastic, and a story of Greta Thurnberg. 

Inner city pupils also watched a you tube clip.

What is Climate Change? Climate change is a long-term change in the average weather patterns that have come to define Earth's local, regional and global climates. These changes have a broad range of observed effects that are synonymous with the term.

We attended the webinar organized within the scope of this project with our students. Our students researched "what is the climate". They prepared questions. They asked their questions in a webinar organized by the meteorologist. They learned that they were curious about the climate.

Climate refers to the average calculation of the long-term, typical 20-30 year weather conditions of a particular place. Climate is usually determined by a large area.

Weather components: Climate refers to the elements that change the atmospheric conditions of a place. The elements of the weather are  Wind, heat, pressure, precipitation and Humidity. The climate of Bangladesh is temperate or temperate. The main feature of the climate of Bangladesh is the monsoon. Geographically, Bangladesh belongs to the tropical climate zone. The average annual temperature in Bangladesh is 26.01 Celsius. The average winter temperature in Bangladesh is 16.62 Celsius. The average summer temperature in Bangladesh is 26.6 Celsius. The average monsoon temperature in Bangladesh is 26.6 Celsius. The highest temperature recorded in Bangladesh till date was 45.10 degree Celsius (May 16, 1982 in Rajshahi). The lowest temperature recorded in Bangladesh till date is 1.60 degree Celsius (February 3, 1905 in Dinajpur). The highest temperature recorded in Dhaka till date was 42.30 degrees Celsius (in 1970). The average annual rainfall in Bangladesh is 203 cm. The average rainfall during the monsoon season in Bangladesh is 309 cm. The highest average rainfall in Bangladesh is at Lalkhan in Sylhet (36 cm). The lowest average rainfall in Bangladesh is at Lalpur (154 cm) in Natore. The highest humidity in Bangladesh is in July (99%) and the lowest in December (38%). Bangladesh receives a lot of rainfall during the monsoon season due to the south-west monsoon. There is no rain in winter in Bangladesh because the air coming over the land is dry. The warmest place in Bangladesh is Lalpur in Natore. Rajshahi is the warmest district in Bangladesh. Srimangal is the coldest place in Bangladesh. Sylhet is the coldest district in Bangladesh. Almost the middle of the Tropic of Cancer line has been crossed. Bangladesh time is 8 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time. April is the warmest month in Bangladesh. January is the coldest month in Bangladesh. The climate of Bangladesh is known as equatorial. The monsoon season in Bangladesh is called the 'unique season'. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department is located in Agargaon, Dhaka. The Meteorological Department of Bangladesh is under the Ministry of Defense. There are 4 meteorological stations in Bangladesh: Dhaka, Patenga, Cox's Bazar and Khepupara in Patuakhali. There are 35 meteorological offices in Bangladesh. The Space Research and Remote Sensing Center is called SPARRSO, which stands for Space Research and Remote Sensing Organization. It is the only cyclone and disaster forecasting center in Bangladesh. It was established in 1980. SPARRSO is located in Agargaon, Dhaka and is regulated by the Ministry of Defense. The name of the project of SPARRSO engaged in artificial satellite, land survey work is ‘Land Sat and Noah’. The name of the Bangladesh Environmental Management Organization is BEMF, the full form of which is: Bangladesh Environment Management Forum. The cause of greenhouse damage is CFC gas. A large presence of weight can be observed at any stratospheric level in the atmosphere. The Netherlands-based international environmental movement is called Greenpeace. The pioneer of the environmental movement was Henry David Harrow of England. The Satellite Ground Receiving Station is responsible for measuring drought and flood damage in Bangladesh, land survey, land erosion, soil salinity determination, sea level, shrimp farming, mangrove forest measurement. The currently inoperative satellite ground receiving station is located at Savar in Dhaka. The job of a meteorological satellite is to forecast weather like clouds, rain, storms, cyclones, etc. every two hours. Recently, a radar center was set up in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh with the financial support of Japan.

Climate change is the change in the global climate which results in catastrophic changes across the world, such as the rise of the global temperature (global warming).

Climate change is precipitated by the most common activities known to mankind, such as:

• Burning coal, oil, and gas
• Cutting down forests (deforestation)
• Fertilisers containing nitrogen
• Factories and vehicles
• Wastage of water.

In my locality, one of the main factors that contribute to climate change is the formidable air pollution in the Delhi NCR; world’s most polluted region in terms of air. With an ever-growing population comes the rising pollution which breaks all global air quality records annually.

Students of Billabong High International School, Thane, India, prepared a  presentation to display effects of climate change.

We use pens and pencils and think of throwing them when the pencil becomes too small to hold or there is no ink in the pen.  In this project, we have pens and pencils with each of them having a small seed at the bottom.  Children are advised to plant these pens and pencils on the earch when they are about to discard them.  This results in growth of multiple plants and trees over a period of time.

You have probably heard the terms climate change and global warming used interchangeably. That’s because both describe changes in earth’s climate. While global warming focuses on the rising average temperature of the planet, climate change usually refers to the shifts in things like precipitation, wind patterns, and temperatures over a given period. Measured changes in climate could last a few years, decades, or even millions of years.

Climate change has occurred for as long as the earth has existed. It happens anytime earth’s climate patterns change and remain in place for a measurable amount of time. This has notably manifested itself in natural cycles of cooling and warming. Before human causes started to shift the global climate, five main factors interacted with one another as climate changes occurred. These five factors include: 

1. Atmosphere (air)
2. Biosphere (living things)
3. Cryosphere (ice and permafrost)
4. Hydrosphere (water)
5. Lithosphere (earth’s crust and upper mantle)

Climate change, also called global warming, refers to the rise in average surface temperatures on Earth. An overwhelming scientific consensus maintains that climate change is due primarily to the human use of fossil fuels, which releases carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the air. The gases trap heat within the atmosphere, which can have a range of effects on ecosystems, including rising sea levels, severe weather events, and droughts that render landscapes more susceptible to wildfires.

These enthusiasts were keen to research and find out about what is causing the climate change and how can we make others realize that. use of man made chemicals is effecting a lot soil biota. side by side such chemicals are responsible for causing biomagnification. it ultimately affects the higher trophic level organisms. so we start producing more and more chemicals to supress the effects of those chemicals which we are using in a crop field as human bodies are in a dis-ease mode i.e. DISEASE.

This is a 6week project which is being taken up by the millenniumites guided by their facilitators in order to bring the change.Week 1- Students have undertaken a role play to impart knowledge about the role plants play in a better environment along with the external factors which are sun, water, oxygen and chlorophyll and explained how these external factors are responsible for climate stability. Every day I see lots of cars on the road and this makes me realize that so many people are producing Carbon emissions which are affecting the environment. Also, related to the electricity generating industry I see energy being produced by factories that are polluting the environment, my entire time in India I haven’t seen any renewable energy sources such as solar panels and wind energy mostly I only see people burning coal to produce energy which affects the environment. I really hope that together we can fight climate change and reduce the impact on the environment.

Miran - Climate change is when the atmosphere changes over a large period of time. Climate change has happened before and is a part of earth’s cycle. Climate change makes the earth warmer or cooler. Climate change affects millions of lives because natural disasters are happening more frequently because of climate change. As example: Forest fires are burning people’s houses. Floods are submerging people’s houses and tornados are happening more often. Climate change is also making the ice in the arctic/Antarctica melt and putting more fresh water in the ocean. But so what if the arctic/Antarctica ice melts in the water we do not care. When the Ice melts into water it increases more fresh water into the ocean (like I said before) it increases the chances of coastal areas to submerge. Climate change effects the earth.

Week one tells us about the difference between weather and climate and the factors that lead to climate change.

Climate change means a change of climate which is directly or indirectly related to human activities that can produce alteration in the composition of atmosphere.

Causes of climate change explanation 

Weather is what you see outside on any particular day. So, for example, it may be 75° degrees and sunny or it could be 20° degrees with heavy snow. That’s the weather.

Climate is the average of that weather. For example, you can expect snow in the Northeast in January or for it to be hot and humid in the Southeast in July. This is climate. The climate record also includes extreme values such as record high temperatures or record amounts of rainfall. If you’ve ever heard your local weather person say “today we hit a record high for this day,” she is talking about climate records.

So when we are talking about climate change, we are talking about changes in long-term averages of daily weather. In most places, weather can change from minute-to-minute, hour-to-hour, day-to-day, and season-to-season. Climate, however, is the average of weather over time and space.

Conclusion:

Climate is what you expect, weather is what you get.

An endeavour to raise student voices

We undertook this collective endeavour, as we carry collective accountability towards Mother Earth. We may find multiple reasons to neglect and avoid the scientific judgements behind climate change and its atrocities; facts, however, remain unchanged. It is undoubtedly the case that young and upcoming generations must make sincere efforts, towards this very cause. It is imperative that we keep our torches burning; torches we have lit to resolve innumerable predicaments throughout history, and ones which can rescue our planet from the clutches of pollution, deforestation, soil erosion, melting glaciers and temperature rises. At DPS International Gurgaon, we are dedicated to contributing our efforts through these meaningful initiatives. It is our belief that we are in possession of all the facts, ideas and solutions that we need to enact permanent change in tackling this pressing crisis.

The first step towards solving any predicament, even one of the cataclysmic proportions such as this, is deconstructing the problem. This process begins with a clear identification of the issue in front of us. The next step is to understand and analyse its root cause and separate the wheat from the chaff by examining the evidence for each explanation. Then, after these steps, the scale of the issue must be understood so that we can combat the issue at each level commensurate to our abilities. One can approach this in many ways. One of these is starting at the personal level and using increasingly larger perspectives until the entire picture comes into focus.

Climate change is visible. Nature has always given us the useful resources which we have utilized for our betterment but our greed towards development has brought destruction to our mother nature. We have created an imbalance and this is causing an adverse effect. We are facing climate change due to our own deeds. Here is a short video describing the causes and effects of Climate Change.

How deforestation for urbanization and increase in traffic can cause climate change over a period of time.

In this project my students of class II have done a research work on what Climate change is and what are its causes. They have complied their work in a video and they have also come to a conclusion that we the humans have brought about this climate change. Though they cannot have a hold on it completely, they have promised to work on this to save their future. They have a motto in their mind that together they can bring about the change and they will.

Students explored the Climate Action causes in their local area and made personal connections 

Students of PYP Grade 4 understood the difference between weather and climate. Then, they brainstormed the various causes of climate change and displayed their understanding by creating short videos. They also shared how they can relate to climate change at their personal level.

Group of students engaged themselves into the goal and discussed, collaborated, researched, compiled, and analyzed the data. Also, other groups added to the causes of climate change. 

Students came up with several ideas of making a 'Design Thinking Project' talking about the awareness campaign they could undertake, which will help spread awareness about this emerging global issue.

The students were divided in three groups and the goals for Week 1 were shared with each group. They worked on the same and collaboratively achieved the goals. 

The teacher explained the difference between Weather and Climate. They observed the changing weather over the week and concluded that it was sometimes warm, windy, cloudy and pleasant. They were encouraged to ask their parents and grandparents about the change in climate over the decades. They found out that theclimate over the years have grown warmer.

The Lino wall along with the video talks about the definition of Climate Change and the various causes of Climate Change. The definitions are recorded by students and they have clicked some pictures of certain things in their surroundings which are causing Climate Change.

The primary cause of climate change is the burning of fossil fuels, such as oil and coal, which emits greenhouse gases into the atmosphere—primarily carbon dioxide. Other human activities, such as agriculture and deforestation, also contribute to the proliferation of greenhouse gases that cause climate change.

While some quantities of these gases are a naturally occurring and critical part of Earth’s temperature control system, the atmospheric concentration of CO2 did not rise above 300 parts per million between the advent of human civilization roughly 10,000 years ago and 1900. Today it is at about 400 ppm, a level not reached in more than 400,000 years.

- Climate change is the deviation in the essential atmospheric conditions such as temperature or pressure over a period of time.

Although I did not create a video myself, I watched a video that covered all the significant contributors to climate change. These are listed below:

- Humans are responsible for climate change because we can intentionally affect nature.
- These activities can be intentional or unaware. 
- Burning gases/fuels is one of them which contributes significantly.
- Use of CFCs ws\as once a very high contributor to this though its effect has been relatively lower since the people have been more aware.
- Deforestation is another significant cause of climate change.
- Whether we realise it now or now bit climate change is likely to have adverse effects on the ecosystems.

Students inquired about the difference between climate and weather. They then found out what climate change is and framed its definition. They posted their reflection of the same on Flipgrid. 

Climate change is the change in the regional or global temperatures that have severe consequences on the biodiversity. It is not natural but rather man-made. It is mainly caused by increased production of greenhouse gases. The Greenhouse gases like water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone are the gases within the atmosphere that absorb and emit heat radiation. Increasing or decreasing amounts of greenhouse gases within the atmosphere act to either hold in or release more of the heat from the sun. Increase in CO2, WATER VAPOURS, METHANE, etc. results in other environmental problems such as melting of glaciers in the polar regions that further leads to rise in the sea level.

WHAT HUMAN ACTIVITIES ARE MOST RESPONSIBLE FOR CLIMATE CHANGE? An endeavour to raise student voices We undertook this collective endeavour, as we carry collective accountability towards Mother Earth. We may find multiple reasons to neglect and avoid the scientific judgements behind climate change and its atrocities; facts, however, remain unchanged. It is undoubtedly the case that young and upcoming generations must make sincere efforts, towards this very cause. It is imperative that we keep our torches burning; torches we have lit to resolve innumerable predicaments throughout history, and ones which can rescue our planet from the clutches of pollution, deforestation, soil erosion, melting glaciers and temperature rises.

At DPS International Gurgaon, we are dedicated to contributing our efforts through these meaningful initiatives. It is our belief that we are in possession of all the facts, ideas and solutions that we need to enact permanent change in tackling this pressing crisis.

The first step towards solving any predicament, even one of the cataclysmic proportions such as this, is deconstructing the problem. This process begins with a clear identification of the issue in front of us. The next step is to understand and analyse its root cause and separate the wheat from the chaff by examining the evidence for each explanation. Then, after these steps, the scale of the issue must be understood so that we can combat the issue at each level commensurate to our abilities. One can approach this in many ways. One of these is starting at the personal level and using increasingly larger perspectives until the entire picture comes into focus.

With industry and transport restarting after the lockdown forced by the Covid-19 pandemic, India and the world have the best chance right now to control greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Failure will mean a country with worse heatwaves, droughts, cloudbursts, floods and a more degraded coastline, according to the Indian government’s first comprehensive report on current climate change impacts and future scenarios till the end of the century.

Despite all countries, including India, making pledges under the 2015 Paris climate agreement, current emissions are taking the world to the worst case scenario, though other development pathways are not only available but economically more attractive in the medium and long term.

Together, we are working to move India toward a sustainable development pathway while alleviating poverty, minimizing greenhouse gas emissions, and delivering social, health and environmental gains.

The students of grade 5 were asked some introspecting questions to find difference between climate and weather.

They observed the changes throughout the week to observe if the weather remains same or not for a day!

They also made bird feeders as that will save biodiversity  and fruit enzyme cleaners.

Vedant Kapoor, student of Grade 3 from DPSI, made a informative presentation on climate change. He talked about the human activities that are responsible for change in environment and also listed possible ways in which we can prevent climate change.

What is climate change?   

The change in the parametres of whether conditions like rain,humidity,heat,snowfall etc over the year is called climate change.Climate change (or global warming), is the process of our planet heating up. Scientists estimate that since the Industrial Revolution, human activity has caused the Earth to warm by approximately 1°C. While that might not sound like much, it means big things for people and wildlife around the globe.

We are a group of enthusisastic young kids of grade 4 and 5.

We are going to:

• Motivate people to take care of  the environment.

The Earth’s climate has been constantly evolving at varying rates since the very beginning, yet these fluctuations have been slow in comparison to the current one. It is important to consider the speed of this variation, the so-called “timescale” of the changes, in order to understand the different contributions of natural and anthropogenic activities to current climatic changes.

The average temperature is regulated by the balance between incoming and outgoing energy, which determines the Earth’s energy balance. As such, any factor that causes a change to the amount of incoming or outgoing energy, which is sustained over a long period (decades or more) can lead to climate change. Some of these factors could be natural or “internal” to the climate system, such as changes in volcanic activity, solar output or the Earth’s orbit around the Sun.

The school started the project on September 28 on week 1 plan. We downloaded the curriculum and lesson plans. All the students of grade VI to grade VIII have oriented about the project the time plan of the project. Most of the students worked very enthusiastically and completed all the three tasks given in week 1.

My students collaborated to work on 3 goals assigned to them. 

The students watched a few videos, read a few articles on effects of climate change and shared various causes of climate change . They were also engaged in creating their own defination of Climate Change .  

Students came up with several ideas of making a 'Design Thinking Project' talking about the awareness campaign they could undertake which will help spread awareness about this emerging global issue.

They chose to make a small project from a long list provided to them- videos. posters, collages, poems, articles, rap, etc.

The students collaborated in a group of 2 and researched on the topic. They presented their findings in the form of a presentation.

We started the first week with full enthusiasm. Our focus was on creating awareness among students about climate change. They learnt the difference between weather and the climate and also learned about the causes of climate change through age-appropriate videos.

They drew Earth picture, did the colouring and used it in making headgear for themselves. Students also took the pledge to protect our planet as part of this awareness initiative.

Climate change in the modern world includes global warming which is caused by the carbon footprint and by human emission of greenhouse gasses.

Although one of the side-effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic was healing of the overall climatic health of the world but if we consider the health of the capital city of India i.e New Delhi, we still need to work hard for this ailing city. So my students have tried to figure out the reasons for this poor climatic condition of New Delhi through their ADOBE Video.

"We have a single mission to protect and hand on the Planet to the next generation."                                                                                                                                              Towards this goal,  took a step forward towards the Climate Action Project known Internationally. This is a 6week project which is being taken up by the students guided by the facilitators in order to bring the change.

Week 1-During Week 1

Students were made aware of the Climate Change and Climate Action Project through an inhouse webinar.

 Students made videos and presentations on Climate Change.

Students have undertaken a role play to impart knowledge about the role plants play in a better environment along with the external factors which are the sun, water, oxygen, and chlorophyll, and explained how these external factors are responsible for climate stability. They further elaborated on how the absence of plants will hamper the environment and will ultimately lead to climate change and global warming.  

Weather is temporary state of atmosphere.How is the weather outside?-It's cloudy /sunny/stormy/snowy/rainy.Weather can change in a day also,it is a short term of state of atmosphere.

Climate-Climate is a long term state of weather in specific region.What is the climate of coastal region?-Humid.It take decades to change climate.

Causes of climate change-

Climate change is caused by imbalance in nature. When there is consumption of more energy and more emission compared to the capacity of nature is replenished then there is climate change. Locally speaking, excess emission of CO2 by the vehicles and other harmful gasses, as compared to the lesser number of trees to convent them is one cause of climate change.  

Students formulated the definition of climate change, explored the causes of climate change locally and globally, and further wrote a slogan for spreading awareness among the people for climate change.

Students were made to identify the exact definition of climate change and the factors contributing to the climate change. Students were encouraged to identify the causes of climate change locally, distinguishing the differences between weather and climate , analysis of the carbon cycle  and a  demonstration on the influence of temperature on climate change. Classes were conducted on global warming, study of  graded climate change,  the carbon cycle and  photosynthesis through which students identified the causes of climate change .

Here are some thoughts by our children about climate change!!

We, over the years, have strived to lead a life full of resources and supplies. But somewhere in this process, we have forgotten that our legacy will be passed on to our future generation and what we are leaving for them.

Whenever a child is born, the mother provides the best to the child. Our mother nature did the same but it is we who have polluted it. Though we have reached to a point of 'No Return' but we can still work on SUSTAINING what we have for our future generations.

In today’s time, we have been forced to inhale toxic fumes and drink micro plastics. We have stripped earth from its resources and completely destroyed the ideal symbiotic relationship between humans and nature. Our degenerate behaviour towards nature is pushing us towards the brink of extinction. Its impacts have been devastating and the way I see it, climate change is the biggest and only threat to global security as of now. This alarming issue is worsening day by day as climate change knows no borders to its effects and neither do we which makes us vulnerable to it.

Climate change is referred to as the alteration in the weather pattern and changes in the average conditions. However, these alterations do not take place until provoked and in our case, it’s our own actions which is responsible for our situation. These changes are transforming into natural disasters which pose an existential challenge for us. Since 2008, an average of 264 million people have been displaced from their homes yearly due to natural hazards out of which 85% of those are related to climate change. This is equivalent to approximately one person being displaced every second.

We have already wasted decades and made matters worse than they already were. We cannot expect nature to run by our terms, we need to adapt to its own rules and regulation. If we wont adapt as a race then we are digging our own graves. If we wont act now then nature will tend to act on us and as we can see, it’s impacts are catastrophic. Its time that we understand the meaning of the phrase “survival of the fittest” and start acting on it as soon as possible. Climate change is simply the bill which has come due and we need to pay it whether we like it or not.

Numerous solutions have been proposed by individuals around the world but we are too blinded by our needs and wants to even act on them. Despite having cutting edge technology on our fingertips, we are unable to unite and implement on this disturbing cause. We need to act together and bring about  microscopic changes in our lifestyles before Mother Nature turns hostile towards us.

Though aware of the words,I was  curious to know about the 6 weeks programme.When our School Principal informed us about the project ,I decided to go ahead with it.Initially we thought of selecting few students( 25 approx.) and 2 teachers.We informed all the students from Grade 3to 9 regarding the projects.For selection of students, we uploaded the Google forms in all the classrooms, so that interested students can give their name.We were surprised to see the response.It was 150+ for Grade 5-9 and 88+ for Grade 3 and 4. After getting the green signal from our facilitator, we increased the number of students.We started our project with 8 teachers and 150 students with an opinion that each child is unique and may have the ability to present their views in a different way.A brief idea about the project was shared durin their regular classes. We had the first zoom session with them on Thursday, 1st October,2020.This session proved to be an ice breaker since the participants belonged to different Grades.Everyone got a chance to share their views.All were excited and eager to know more.Week-1 Questions were discussed with them through presentation and videos.There was an active participation by all the pupils.2nd meeting was scheduled on 2nd October,2020.We were amazed to see their overwhelming response.Each one of them was ready with their answers through different activities like drawing, poster, videos and powerpoint presentation.One child cameout with an unique idea of showing Climate change through dance and few made their You Tube videos.( Shared the URL Link [https://youtu.be/cpLtz7fyURg]of one child's video of week 1 in Video on You Tube).All had done a wonderful work by going through the references and come out with their views.We never thought ,they can produce such wonderful work within a short span of time.On Saturday,3rd October,2020, a final session was arranged.The students were asked what had they gained in these few days.This session was arranged basically to sensitize the lower Grade students who had joined late in the project due to the ongoing assessments.We could see the spark in their eyes to take the project ahead and make an impact.Powerpoint Presentatation added by compiling students' work.

Students discussed their understanding about climate change and expressed their intense concern about the same. They could make connections about the same with their own life and places where they experienced changes due to global warming. Students could fairly identify the reasons and causes of climate change in the world. They also shared their knowledge about the impact this change might cause in the world. 

Students are brainstorming about ways to curb climate change and how can they contribute in doing the same.

Difference between Weather and Climate.

Keeping earth clean and neat , Using and implementing the 3 R's - Reduce Reuse and Recycle, Making earth a better place to dwell for all of us . So that we can live without any fears.

• Definition of climate change: Climate change is the alteration of the weather conditions of an area prevailing over a long period of time.
• A few causes of climate change :

1. Illegal cutting of trees
2. Burning of fossil fuels
3. Release of harmful gases like nitrous oxide in the atmosphere that is formed due to use of synthetic fertilizers
4. Accumulation of methane gas (accounts for about 16% of greenhouse gas emissions) in the atmosphere due to waste decompostion in landfills. 
5. Use of chlorofluorocarbons and hydrofluorocarbons in home appliances like refrigerators. (Deplete the ozone layer and impact the atmosphere)

• The above points were discussed with Std VII students in the class with the help of presentations, articles and youtube videos.
• Students observed, analysed and related these causes with their surroundings and made a presentation on the causes of climate change.

To emphasize on the current issue of Global Climate change and to sensitize the young generation towards it, an interesting activity was conducted in Sanjivani International school in Grade 3.
The aim was to make the students understand the concept of Climate change and make them aware of various factors affecting the same.
The mode of activity was conducted in an interactive way by means of Spin the Wheel...wherein stimulating questions were asked by spinning the wheel of questions. 
Students enjoyed and participated in the activity enthusiastically.The activity compelled the students to participate and thus the objective was fulfilled.

Rishab Bisain: In week 1 we discussed what our definitions were on climate change and we also discussed about how climate change was affecting the environment, then we also took pictures which displayed this affect. Additionally, in week 1 we also modified our previous definition that we created. Finally, I also did a presentation on boundary conditions and also identifying which boundary conditions are shifting. In week 2 we planted trees and made a video about them, and I also created a poster about one climate expert or climate action organizations. Things I would do differently is making sure that the points in my presentation to be shorter so that it is not overwhelming. I think that I learned a new perspective on climate change and I was able understand that it is an urgent issue and that action is extremely essential.
 

VIDEO ON CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE-CLASS 2F-KASHVI SINGHAL

Over the past week, 25 of us have worked with collaboration and dedication towards this project. We have conducted extensive research on the causes of climate change in our city, state, and country. Based on our research, we have created an informed definition of climate change that we all agreed on. Furthermore, we effectively conveyed our ideas through a 3-minute video, a Padlet, and a PPT.

Students of grade 10 are taking an initiative to create awareness among the younger students in the school and motivate them to follow simple and easy steps to protect our earth. They will also talk about climate change , what is it and It's causes. 

This week the students virtually went to the grade 3 to 5 and conducted sessions with the young ones. 

 The students of grade2 C from C.N.M & N.D PAREKH PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL is presenting  the causes and effects through charts , interaction between parents .

Students explore their personal connection to climate change, talking about how they perceive the impact they have, at an individual level, on the environment around them.

I am kashfa Neyaz from St.giri public school. My students of grade 10th and 11th participated in the first week where we focussed on the basic differences between weather and climate. Going on further we created our own definition of climate change keeping in mind the different perspectives. The students worked out on the different grassroot level causes that ultimately lead to climate change in the long run. They cooperated by working on different presentations and web studies, putting forward their views and relevant ideas! It was an amazing week!

Global warming is caused by the greenhouse effect, a natural process by which the atmosphere retains some of the Sun's heat, allowing the Earth to maintain the necessary conditions to host life. Without the greenhouse effect, the average temperature of the planet would be -180C.

This submission by the Grades 3, 4 and 5 students of the Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad, represents the students' discussions, findings, conclusions and reflections on what Climate Change really means and what are its most prominent causes in the local area, i.e. the city of Hyderabad.

Students researched about the difference between weather and climate. They then discussed about the changes in climate in their locality and talked to their parents and community members regarding the same. 

Further they wrote their own definition of climate change and the causes for it.

To spread awareness on a pivotal issue like 'climate change' children of pre-primary were sensitised through a storytelling session, slogan writing on headgears and freehand drawing on the related topic. Climate Action Projects  - Answers given by students

My students and I were discussing the definition of climate change and the causes.

We learned that global warming and climate change are not the same but they are related.

We also discussed why there are some people who think that climate change is not for real.

We searched for the evidences in real life (we discuss what happened out side) and through internet. We had come to a conclusion: Global Warming and Climate Change are real and we need to do something about it.

My EFL (English as a Foreign Language) class cannot quite believe that they are joining this global project from Japan; I cannot quite believe that such an amazing global project has been put together! We will be adding our learning on climate change causes in the days to come.
