The past two weeks, we have been preparing for the Climate Action Challenge Day. Students were researching how climate change was impacting Canada, things we could do to improve our environment and who are our Canadian Ecoheros. Students used this information to create board games that we could play in class. On Thursday October 25th we looked at our Ecofootprint using the website : footprintcalculator.org. Many students were surprised that their ecofootprint had them using 5 + earths! We then took a look at the longest list, considered things we could do to decrease our ecofootprint. Students then made a personal pledge to take climate action through various changes in their life. Their pledges were posted in the hall to inspire other students.
