INTRODUCTION TO CLIMATE ACTION PROJECT 2021

Students were introduced to the project in a webinar and in a special session conducted in the school premises. Students were made aware of the climate change and Climate Action Project through this session. Students made videos and presentations on climate change demonstrating their knowledge and concerns about the environment.

“Go Greening” drive

One of the key initiatives has been “Go Greening” drive in and around school .Students Pledged to plant a tree on their birthdays and take care of it. Further, students also did a waste segregation project. They were also shown videos from various countries to make they aware about the global climatic changes.

Discussions upon Potential Solutions to Climate Change

The students  examined some of the potential solutions for climate change or specific environmental issues that are affecting our planet. To mitigate this cause and to save our mother earth at the individual level, they prepared recycled planter. They learnt about how we can ultimately lead to a better climate worth living. Trees provide us with many benefits necessary for survival, including clean air, filtered water, shade, and food. They also give us hope and insight, and courage to persevere – even in the harshest conditions. Trees teach us to stay rooted while soaring to great heights." Keeping these thoughts in mind students pledged to plant a tree on their birthday every year.

VIRTUAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM

Learning is an active process. We learn by doing.. Only knowledge that is used sticks in your mind. - Dale Carnegie
Millennium World School, Faridabad, under the ongoing project, collaborated virtually on Zoom with S.R. International School, Mumbai on 27 October 2021.

The students shared their state's geographical conditions and how the people are coming around to help protect the environment for a better future ahead. Presentations were shared and a discussion broke out among the students about various aspects of climate change and how a single person can alter the course of preserving nature.

The collaboration was an immense success as a lot of new and eye-opening information was shared among the schools. We hope to collaborate with various other schools for learning should never come to a halt.
