Homeroom Tutor, The Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad (2017-Present)
- Grade 3 teacher for the past 3 years. Focused on areas of student agency and inquiry-based learning.
- Initiated several student-driven projects to support the local community- organic farming and teaching in Government school were the most significant ones.
- Founder of a dancing community both for children and adult on campus.
- Contributed to the Residential Program as a dorm parent for senior girls.
- Successfully completed the internal teacher training program TPP (Teacher Preparation Program)
- Associated with action research and participatory research related to mindset and its relationship with student’s performance and movement and its impact on learning.
Fellow TEACH FOR INDIA, Mumbai (2015-2017)
- Selected through a national aptitude test for participating in the TFI movement (300 were selected from a pool of 20,000 applicants), where the moto is eliminating education inequality across the length and breadth of the country.
Supporting 42 kids of Vikhroli Parksite area to realize their dreams. Also empowering their parents and siblings to be future teachers through a self-initiated project called- BE THE CHANGE.
- The main focus has been to engage students and parents from BPL background in the holistic development of kids through engaging yet enjoyable classroom as well as outside classroom activities, community visits.
- The impact of such participatory activities have been increasing the student-parents awareness (parent's engagement increased to 75% from 10% in 2 years), and enhancement in the academic performance in areas like arithmetic skills, and improved comprehension of English language (Students who hardly could read English are now committed to a value-based and an excellent quality education, the absenteeism rate reduced to 1% from 30%).
- Associated with the exploratory research which the organization undertakes periodically to investigate the level of awareness for primary education and need for the same in pursuing good living standards among the students and their families. Research is based on primary data collection, viz, framing questionnaire, focused group interviews and undertaking basic statistical analyses of the same, for example, trend analyses etc.
- Actively engaged in any developmental sessions or seminars within the organization where the aim is to successfully transfer the skills and positive experiences fellows have among the peers. Hence TFI experience has enabled a holistic development- from being an effective team player to balancing personal life.
