Causes of climate change

The Planet’s climate has constantly been changing over  time. It is true that humanity has caused most owarming global by releasing heat. This is are doing this through burning fossil fuels, agriculture and land-use and other activities that drive climate change. Greenhouse gases are at the highest levels they have ever been over the last 800,000 years.Climate change involves not only rising temperatures, but also extreme weather events, rising sea levels, shifting wildlife populations and habitats, and a range of other impacts.

Effects of climate change

Warmer temperatures over time are changing weather patterns and disrupting the usual balance of nature, posing many risks to human beings and all other forms of life on Earth. Higher temperatures increase heat-related illnesses and can make it more difficult to work and move around. Wildfires start more easily and spread more rapidly when conditions are hotter. Because the Earth is a system, where everything is connected, changes in one area often influence changes in all others. The consequences of climate change now include: intense droughts, water scarcity, severe fires, rising sea levels, flooding, melting polar ice, catastrophic storms, declining biodiversity.

Climate Action: Local to Global

The effects of climate change are increasingly visible in Romania and internationally, be it intense heat waves, drought which destroys agricultural production, floods or threats to the address biodiversity caused by wildfires.Although numerous opinion polls indicate that climate change is considered by Romanians and Europeans to be a major challenge, with which we we face in the 21st century, understanding causes, effects and modalities to respond to climate change remains limited. Information and education about the causes, effects and ways to reduce the intensity of climate change is essential and at the center of it must be find a dialogue between experts and society. Responding effectively to change climate change involves a partnership between governments and citizens, as well as decisions at the level individual.

Climate Action - Solutions

Climate change is happening now, and it’s the most serious threat to life on our planet. In 2015, world leaders signed a major treaty called the Paris agreement, to put these solutions into practice. Core to all climate change solutions is reducing greenhouse gas emissions, which must get to zero as soon as possible. Because both forests and oceans play vitally important roles in regulating our climate, increasing the natural ability of forests and oceans to absorb carbon dioxide can also help stop global warming. To work, all of these solutions need strong international cooperation between governments and businesses, including the most polluting sectors.
The best way for anyone to help stop climate change is to take collective action. This means pressuring governments and corporations to change their policies and business practices.

Exchange of experience between students

This week we hade an important exchange of knowledge and awareness about climate change to global level bethween romanian students from Scoala Superioara Comerciala Nicolae Kretzulescu with students from Funlish Language School, India coordinate by amazing Mrs. Swati Baksi. The students from both schools discused about how climate change affected the Planet and  shared the presentations on their researches and the impact of climate change in their own regions and the solutions they are adapting to combat it. We spent wonderful moments watching the LEGO Build the change webinar with our students. David's presentation delighted us and challenged us in the same measure, the students strive to find new methods of sustainability for our Planet. Thanks to Koen for the amazing presentation by David!

Students' messages for young people from all over the world and tree planting

Students' messages for young people from all over the World  The students of our school appealed to young people from all over the world to join their efforts to save Mother Planet. At the same time they planted trees to help nature to be reborn.
