When we launched the Climate Action Project in 2017 we envisioned to build a website which aimed to inform teachers and allow them to share their findings and solutions so that all teachers involved were able to learn from each other. Currently we have more than 20,0000 teachers involved across 149 countries. Altogether more than 3 million students have been involved while they have been learning about climate change, taking positive actions and coming up with lots of potential solutions.
Now it is time for a new platform. Which will increase opportunities to work together. We will launch our new platform in September. A sneak preview of the new features:
After registration, you can build your own profile, feature past accomplishments, chat with other people, create lesson plans and stories. Your profile can either be public or private. We built in some cool extras: you can see who visited your profile and people can acknowledge (read: give a pat on your back) all of your efforts.
The website will be available in multiple languages.
This page is brand new and .... it's a lot!
You will be able to post messages on a wall and request information or collaboration, share best practices or concerns. You can create activities which other people can replicate: a solar light, a salt driven cart of your own eco-soap? This page allows to connect with other teachers in other countries or even continents. We made it really easy to schedule a virtual interaction. A calendar will show you events and planned interactions. A map will point out how many times and how far you traveled virtually.
Groups will allow you to connect with like-minded people. We worked on a new concept: co-creation wall. This wall will allow you and other group members to work on the same.
The platform has an internal messaging system allowing to send private messages to other participants.
We made it extremely easy to connect with other participants. You can filter and make sure you find teachers teaching the same subject, people with the same interests. And something really cool: you can now visualize your network and share on social media.
Climate action Project is all about learning and sharing. The Project page will allow you to submit your weekly findings, images, tree planting and more.
