Climate change DEFINITION. Causes.
Week 1
Placed by Carmen Romaniuc 2021/Nov/3
In the first week of the project, students defined climate change and listed local causes of these changes.
Climate change is a change in the statistical distribution of meteorological patterns when this change lasts over an extended period of time (ie, decades to millions of years). Climate change can refer to a change in average weather conditions or to a change in the weather in the context of long-term average conditions.
Climate change is caused by factors such as biotic processes, variations in solar radiation received by the Earth, plate tectonics and volcanic eruptions. Certain human activities have been identified as the main causes of ongoing climate change, often referred to as global warming.
Local causes - deforestation, burning of fossil fuels, use of old cars, dumping of waste in surface and groundwater, lack of recycling.
