Description:

This week we learnt about the effects of climate change in Australia. In small groups students participated in an inquiry based learning project than involved them researching the effects of climate change in our country. They then created a poster and presented their findings to the class. The students agreed that the most significant effects in Australia are: bush fires, which lead to the loss of habitat and life of many native animals; such as koalas, drought and flooding- which has a huge impact on agriculture and food production, an increase of heat waves- which has led to health problems and rising sea temperatures which has killed off large areas of coral in the Great Barrier Reef.
