Projects 2022

Primary School Kocho Racin, Ohrid, Week 1

We used Jamboard to complete the activity for the first week of the project. Students answered the following questions: What is your definition of climate change?; What causes climate change?; What is your personal relationship with climate change?

Primary School Kocho Racin, Ohrid, Week 2

Activities during week 2: Action: cleaning the schoolyard-two groups of students; How does waste affect the environment and climate change? Research: How long does it take for a certain type of waste to break down?Effects of climate change at the local level: How does climate change affect plants, animals, weather, human activity, and lifestyles?

Primary School Kocho Racin, Ohrid, Week 3

We used a Padlet. Each student wrote three causes and effects of climate change.

Primary School Kocho Racin, Ohrid, Week 4

The activities for this week include discussion and answers (Mentimeter tool) about actions that institutions and every individual should take in order to reduce the climate crisis.

Primary School Kocho Racin, Ohrid, Week 5

In week 5, we accepted the challenge that was given during the LEGO Build the Change webinar. The students offered their solutions on how to save Grimsville. Grimesville has a new name - Brightville. There is no waste that pollutes the town. There are waste sorting bins everywhere. The waste is taken to special recycling factories. They have filters to purify the air. Trees and other plants in green parks also purify the air. The water in the river is clean. The boat that uses the energy of the water for navigation collected all the plastic bottles and now takes care of transporting the organic waste to the fields. A water tank is used to irrigate the fields. Wastewater is collected, purified, and then used for irrigation. Many plant and animal species have recovered. The town has windmills to generate electricity, and all houses and buildings have solar panels. People are happy in their new jobs. Children enjoy riding skateboards and bicycles. Adults use public transport and electric cars. Hygiene is constantly maintained in Brightville. A green future shines bright in Brightville.

Primary School Kocho Racin, Ohrid, Week 6

Activities in the last week of the project include making plastic bottle pots in animal shapes and making number tiles. The students used spray paint to paint the bottles, then decorated them with recycled material and planted flowers. For the realization of the second activity, they collected plastic caps, made a mixture of glue, and made tiles with numbers. The tiles are in the schoolyard, so all the students can play on them.
