Projects 2020

Love the Earth, save the world!

The Earth is the only home we have, but unfortunately we aren't showing it the love and care it deserves. Everyone needs to put their best efforts to help the Earth, environment can be saved by planting more trees, recycling, reusing, reducing pollution, creating awareness through different projects and activities. That's why we don`t want to stand aside and watch the deterioration of environmental situation and Climate change.

Love the Earth, save the world!

The second week of the Climate Action project was even more impressive than the previous one. The topic was "Effects of Climate change" so we explored them, brainstormed, discussed, shared our ideas and created a plan of activities for us. At the beginning of the week we took part in #PlantED, a global tree planting initiative as part of the Climate Action project because it is the one of the most effective ways to combat climate change. Romensky forestry provided us with tree saplings and then our team invited children to join us. The youngest kids from our school were very excited and full of positive impressions while planting, it was the new experience for them. They promised to take care of planted trees, water them and continue planting new ones every year.

Besides we organized a contest for the best picture "Save the World, plant trees!" among the pupils of our school to draw public attention to the problem of climate change, deforestation and pollution. At the end of the week we decided to make a poster demonstrating effects of climate change to Ukraine.

Love the Earth, save the world!

We started our third week reflecting on causes and effects of climate change, then we watched three videos submitted by other classrooms from India, Moldova and Africa to understand the difference of climate change across the world. We divided into teams and compared our results from the first two weeks and we were really impressed exploring the effects of climate change on our planet at global levels. We researched what the possible effects of climate change might be in the future and understood that everything is related and the problem of Climate change is more serious than we thought before.

Love the Earth, save the world!

We decided to create a team of Eco-rangers at school who will initiate and organize different events and activities to draw public attention to the problem of climate change. We must take actions and do something right now because our lives, the survival of all living beings depends on it. We found out the solutions and started from the small steps at our local level.  We continued planting trees and composting food scraps. It helps to suck carbon out of the air and stabilize the climate. Environmental awareness and education is very important as well so we organized a quest for children from the 7-th forms and trainings for younger kids how to sort out garbage correctly. We cleaned up the territory of the local forest to make it a better and cleaner place and hung the bird feeders there.

We urge to use energy and all the resources wisely: save water at home, decrease energy use: unplug computers, TVs and other electronics when you’re not using them, use energy-efficient light bulbs. Walk more, use your bike or public transport instead of cars. Consume less, waste less, remember the 3 R`s: reduce, reuse and recycle. Try to have healthy habits: eat less meat, choose local foods and buy food with less packaging. Let us all work together to make this world a better place for living! We deserve to be healthy, enjoy the nature, live together in harmony, peace and prosperity for many years to come!

Love the Earth, Save the world!

It was an unusual week when we had the opportunity to talk with Lena Huang who gave helpful pieces of advice, motivated and gave the faith to continue working and changing the ecological situation in our community. Besides we had two online meetings with the classroom from India, they were so kind, active and friendly, we talked about climate change and proposed solutions to this problem, besides we exchanged our impressions about activities during the participation in Climate Action Project.

Love the Earth, Save the world!

We were very excited watching the most amazing and incredible webinar Climate Action Day where we had the opportunity to listen to Jane Goodall and President Santos and were inspired by Vanessa Nakate and Princess Esmeralda. It was great when students from different parts of the world presented their findings, solutions, and how they plan to take action. Thank you so much for this exciting event.
