CLIMATE CHANGE ACTION PLAN

Action towards Climate Change is an initiative which is very important at this point of time. Our students will be the ambassadors for this global action plan.By sensitizing the young generation we can overcome this huge problem of climate change. Small steps taken now will matter a lot for the future. Students did research work and has shared their opinions in the form of posters, videos and  power point presentations.

EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE

Ongoing effects include rising sea levels due to thermal expansion and melting of glaciers and ice sheets, and warming of the ocean surface, leading to increased temperature stratification. Other possible effects include large-scale changes in ocean circulation.Students have explored the various aspects that have affected our environment due to climate change. It's an eye opener for all as its not too late to take a step towards improving the situation. It's NOW or NEVER.

HOW HAS CLIMATE CHANGE AFFECTED GLOBALLY

Students watched  videos related to  global climatic change.Thay discussed about the pros and cons of technology.

Increasing temperatures caused by climate change will make the water of the oceans expand; ice melting in the Antarctic and Greenland will also contribute to the sea level. Sea levels could rise by as much as 25 to 50 cm, by 2100. Greater sea levels will threaten the low-lying coastal areas such as the Netherlands and Bangladesh, millions of areas of land will be at danger from flooding; causing people to leave their homes. Low lying areas in cities will be hugely affected by the rising sea.

Changes in weather will affect many crops grown around world. Crops such as wheat and rice grow well in high temperatures, while plants such as maize and sugarcane prefer cooler climates. Changes in rainfall patterns will also affect how well plants and crops grow. The effect of a change in the weather on plant growth may lead to some countries not having enough food.

CLIMATE CHANGE SOLUTIONS

We cannot just speak about the problem. Time has come to find quick solutions that can stop this change in climate.

Air pollution prevention

Many methods exist to prevent, control and reduce air pollution, in particular by reducing the consumption of fossil fuels, and limiting industry emissions and waste.

Waste Management & recycling

The simplest solution to reduce waste is to adapt our production methods to our consumption patterns. The recycling process must also be taken into account in our consumption habits.

Sea and Ocean preservation

Oceans and seas are the largest storage of greenhouse gases and are an exceptional support system for life on this planet. Limiting overfishing, unsustainable development activities in coastal areas and the consumption of environmentally friendly products is now essential.

Circular economy

Use the 3 r's of circular economy (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) to significantly reduce our waste and avoid unnecessary production of new items.

Renewable energies

Changing our main energy sources to clean and renewable energy. Solar, Wind, Geothermal and biomass could be the solution.
