The climate change - week 1

We defined climate change and discussed its causes, creating word clouds and concept maps. It was an interesting activity.

The effects of climate change

This week we did two activities this week: an online meeting during which we discussed the climate effects in the world, the effects in our country, we made a conceptual map, clouds of words and a quiz. The second activity was a practical one - we planted trees, because we realized how important the green environment is for our futur, for the futur of our planet.

An international meeting

This week we had an extremely interesting meeting with a secundary middle school from Flanders, Belgium. The belgian students are 12 till 14 years old likr our students. Their teacher, Koen Smets, suggested some topics to discuss:

What are the main sources of energy (fossile vs. Renewable, Household vs. Industry) in our town / country?
Is sustainability on the political agenda?
Do you allready experience local effects of climate change?
What kind of climate is there in your country? Are there also four seasons as in Belgium?
How do the students go to school. Mainly public transport? Bicycle? Parents who bring them?
Does your students have a smartphone? Is it affordable? How much does it cost?
Each team presented briefly their country as introduction to themeeting (capital, highlights, habitants, …).
